Foxconn senior executive has got bad news for iPhone 8 lovers

As per the expectation and history of Apple, iPhone 8 is almost a month away from the launch. Leaks and rumors are on the peak and currently, it seems that every other person is talking about the much-anticipated launch of the year in Smartphone market, the iPhone 8 launch.

As revealed Foxconn vice president Luo Zhongsheng in a Weibo post. According to the post (which has now been deleted), the OLED yield is 60 per cent given the cost of cutting the display in non-uniform size is high. He also confirms that OLED panels for iPhone are being made Samsung Display.



Luo, who is an executive director at Foxconn subsidiary FIH Mobile, said only around 60 per cent of the screens produced will be usable due to the special design. "It looks like the difficulty of special-shaped cutting is indeed great, the cost will not be cheap," he wrote, according to a translation from 9to5Mac.

The phone is rumored to cost between $1,200 and $1,400 (£920 to £1,075), significantly more pricey than previous generations of the device. Last year's iPhone 7 cost $969 for the most expensive model.

Apple is expected to unveil three new iPhones next month; a 7s and 7s Plus that largely take after last year's models and a premium model with the new design and technology.

As said above, iPhone 8 is expected to be launch in September along with the iPhone 7s & iPhone 7s Plus. As per the earlier reports, the iPhone 8 will feature a bezel-less OLED display, and Apple could ditch TouchID in the latest iPhone. Reports have indicated that iPhone 8 will be capable of shooting 4K videos at 60 frames per second. Apple iPhone 7S and 7S Plus will be successors to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They’re rumored to sport an all-glass back and support wireless charging.
